ONE YEAR OF THE HSAUK
Celebrating our accomplishments and the expansion to Ireland – IAHSP Celebrates with HSA-UK and is pleased to have them as an Affiliate Association with IAHSP and IAHSP-EU.
From its conception to the plentiful milestones it has achieved over the past year, the Home Staging Association UK’s influence on the local industry is far from showing any signs of slowing down, especially when it’s now attracting growing interest from home staging industries in neighbouring countries as well. With a goal to support as many incredible talents as possible, build even more extensive networking opportunities for them and ultimately work towards strengthening the home staging industry, meeting the booming demand beyond national borders just seems like a natural next step. Thus, in celebration of its first anniversary, the Association is delighted to expand into Ireland and announce the launch of its new website.
Paloma Harrington-Griffin, director of Home Staging Association UK, envisaged the idea of a platform to unite ambitious home staging professionals whilst travelling back on the bus from an install job in South Kensington. “I was confounded by the lack of support for the emerging Home Staging scene in the UK, I wanted a way to turn my competitors into my colleagues and really build a community,” she explains. Fast forward a year, several sleepless nights, and innumerable working weekends later, and the HSA is still as busy as ever promoting the industry, building its membership, and generally beautifying properties up and down the country.
“On the surface, it can often look like home staging is a one-person job but the truth is, it’s a collective process with so many different elements and components. That’s why this project has worked so well, everyone brings their own strengths,” describes Paloma, and the culture at HSA certainly reflects this. There is an innate collaboration to staging a home. It’s a partnership of practical and artistic strengths, and the HSA has developed in the same way. By bringing together a huge cross-section of the industry, including interior designers, architects, and real estate agents, the association continues to work towards better-connected professionals and increased industry visibility.
A huge part of the HSA mission has been to make industry knowledge more accessible. “There’s been a real focus on forums, workshops, and webinars, and the Home Staging Report was a particular highlight. I knew right at the beginning of trying to get the company off the ground that I wanted to place a huge emphasis on education, so when we see the resources we’ve worked on being featured in articles and publications – and we get that positive feedback – it’s so reaffirming for us,” adds Paloma. Following this success, plans are already in motion for the 2019 Home Staging report, as well as an upcoming hands-on home staging workshop day in May and an exclusive live webinar with president of IAHSP® Europe, Sanja Radovanovic, discussing how to increase business profitability.
The new website sees a more refined and intuitive platform to help members reach a wider audience, as well as an ever-growing wealth of e-resources and guides to help members and non-members alike grow their business. Paloma adds, “There is so much creative energy at HSA right now. We have an expanding team of creatives and PR gurus and an ever-emerging social media presence so we can’t wait to see what the future holds.”
