IAHSP Community Worldwide Staging Service Week
Project:
For the World Wide Staging Week we are going to Stage a room for Service Alternatives of WA. We are very excited as a “new” chapter to be working on an activity center in a residential staffed home of 4 young men in Whatcon County. The room is a much needed place for these boys. We will be painting and furnishing this space. This will be a great opportunity to give back to the community and it is always so rewarding to help kids!!
The four boys living in this Residential Home now have some “separation of space” without having to be sent to their rooms! The upstairs room that we Staged for these guys now has
•A TV area to watch DVDs
•A computer area to play games
•An art table with drawing supplies, modeling clay etc
•A chair to chill out in, surrounded by “Chalk board” paint so that they can Graffiti with permission!
(We splurged on Sherwin Williams, Duration paint, so that any type of crayon/marker etc will wipe off any of the painted walls)
•The pole in the middle of the room has now been turned into a tree to fit our Jungle theme, and can also be used as a scratching post for the boys’ new kitten! Now that is creative genius…ASP style!!!
