San Francisco East Bay Chapter

Hello fabulous World Wide Service Day Team!

Once again, thank you so much for being part of this event. What a day! Personally, I had such fun (ok it took me 4 hours to do the awning and I don’t want to sew again for years) and you all were an important part of it! WE COULD NOT HAVE DONE IT WITHOUT EACH OF YOU!

I am now gathering the photos from each of you. If you have before photos send those as well. I will gather them all and put together a piece for the newsletter that will do our team justice. I have attached a few just to get it going. What a difference.

  • Kahai and Bernita – the wishing well was a brilliant idea! Nancy will have to let us know how much the donations have increased because of this beautiful piece. Desk and all just perfect.
  • Lavone and daughter and Emma – thank you so much for the beautiful bulletin board. It’s exactly what that space needed and now they have a wonderful display area for important messages and events.
  • Laschelle and Terrylynn – the AQUARIUM ROCKS! We went from a 35 gallon, rusty, damaged tank to a beautiful 55 gallon aquarium paradise – love the mermaid. The fish looked so happy! Laschelle please spend special thanks to your husband for ensuring an easy and successful transition from one tank to the other!
  • Kudos to Nancy’s husband for supplying the beautiful photos. We all want some! Just gorgeous. Terrylynn thanks for donating the huge pots and plants for the entrance to the lobby a last minute addition that did wonders for the curb appeal.
  • Diana, Graham, Lavone and Teri, thank you so much for the beautiful logo in the middle of the lobby. What a statement. It brings the entire project together.
  • KEN, KEN, KEN! Our super fantastic painter who donated his time for two days and listened to us all change paint colors mid stream without missing a beat. YOU ARE SIMPLY WONDERFUL! Ann thanks for talking to Ken regarding our day. We really couldn’t have done the job without him.
  • Cathy Lee, Alise and team – the patio is now a thing a beauty. Benches, pots, wind charms – a new roofing. A huge task that transformed this large area. Cathy please send along our thanks to Rick and your kids for making this happen. Please send our special thanks to Rick who had a challenging personal week and still showed up to participate. THANK YOU!
  • Nancy and Bill – you were such fun to have as part of the team. Working with us every step of the way and keeping us motivated!
  • Brenda, Alix and Graham – what a team. You help take a simply display case and transformed it into a work of art. The center’s clients truly have a gift kiosk worthy of their art and I hope the sales go through the roof! Special thanks to Alix and Emma who sat and made the dozens of name and price tickets L. Choy, L. Choy, L. Choy J
  • Rich (Alix’s dad) stopping by to say hi and then pitching in to clean, clean, clean those windows with Bernita and crew thank you!

Special thanks to Brenda who spent the week prior to the event running around doing errands, picking up paint (that was donated) and purchasing and delivering the important black chairs (with gorgeous pillows supplied by the pillow team) for the entire lobby! Way beyond the call of duty without complaint.

Also, a special mention to my fabulous wonderful husband who always supports me and pitched in to make the template for the logo, build the frame for the kiosk and stuck around all day to help wherever needed (we will never forgot the aquarium picture hanging episode) I am one lucky stager.

I hope I did not forget anyone. It makes me feel so good to work with you all and make such a difference again this year. I am sure the client’s are arriving right now and looking around the lobby in wonder. I know we have brought smiles and color to a special group of people. I hope this gives the staff a beautiful and inspirational place to come to work everyday and do the amazing work that they do!

Enjoy these few photos. See you at the October meeting and THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!

Testimonials

Good Morning,

I want to add my Ditto, Ditto, Ditto, to Kym's expression of thanks, and add one more time how very much the CP Center appreciates all of your amazing talents, and the depth of your generosity and kindness.

You were all so amazing to work with. Who knew that you could get a group of creative artists all in the same room and have you work so wonderfully together. HA! You truly are awesome, and a gift!

I wish you could have all been here this morning to see the look on everyone's face. Without exception everyone was "WOWED", and ecstatic about the results. Here are some of the comments.....

  • "It Just says "Welcome"...it is so inviting.
  • "I love the colors
  • "This wishing well is soooooo cute...
  • "Where am I? This is incredible....
  • "My favorite is the Gift Shop....(this was from Lawrence Choy :-)
  • "This makes me want to come to work!"
  • "Thank you... (this was literally from everyone)
  • "Wow look at the patio..... the plants look so much better.... oh, look at the tables....and look at the mobiles and wind chimes...oh my gosh, they replaced those ugly plastic things ...(the longer they looked the more they noticed.)
  • "A new fish tank! It looks so different and inviting. It makes you want to watch the fish."
  • "Is this our new logo? This just makes the whole thing come together. Can we ever walk on this?
  • "Oh my gosh, this is beautiful, It is just too much to take in.

A bulletin board...it is so cute and a great idea for notes and messages....

I could go on and on. I think some of the best comments are the ones I over heard between staff. Comments to one another about how much they liked the new lobby. You know those are sincere.

Of course we all are inspired to keep going and brighten up our whole center. Who Boy...I am going to be busy! Smile!

How can I adequately express our feelings of gratitude ? There are just not enough words.

I do invite any of you who are interested to come back for a tour to meet our participants. We will definitely get you on our mailing list.

God Bless each of you. You all have a permanent place in my heart's rolo-dex.

With Sincere Gratitude,

Nancy R. Rosenberg
