Houston Chapter
The Houston IAHSP Chapter was honored to give back to the Houston Fire Department Station 35's. Our Mission was to give them a home away from home.
We implemented small details which offered them everyday functionality while doing their job. Some of their needs we addressed were clothes hooks by their beds so that their can hang their pants and shirts before they head out on their next emergency.
We enhanced the aesthetics of the different rooms by placing artwork on the walls to give the rooms more warmth. Lastly we coordinated a setup for a better and more efficient kitchen with matching place settings, good cookware and utensils.
They are very happy and grateful to the Houston IAHSP Chapter for choosing them for our 2006 Worldwide Staging Day Program.
We have received many responses from the firefighters from the different shifts stating how they love the new pots and pans, how convenient the clothes hooks are when they lay down to bed and are able to retrieve their clothes quickly.
The Houston IAHSP Chapter will continue to adopt Station 35's until our next WWSD as they are still in need of many items including mattresses, washer and dryer, gas grill and locked storage for their personal sleeping bags. We are especially proud of the Houston IAHSP Chapter members for their generosity and time they donated.
