Hello Everyone,
Can I just say..............................OH MY GOD..............What a fantastic day we had at The Children's Room yesterday. The WWSSD turned out to be one of the most rewarding days for me and I think for everyone else that was involved:
Blair Hamaty, Charlene Richard, Donna Caselden, Joyce Pace, Karen Peri-Goldman, Linda Rankin,
Lynne Ellis, Nancy Gingras, Renee Indresano, & Thomas Holmes you all were a pleasure to work with and you all made our first WWSSD a great success!!!
A big thanks to Karen Goldman for our absolutely delicious breakfast. Thank you to our coffee, drinks & snack people Blair, Lynne Ellis & Linda Rankin.
The Children's Room had a volunteer training program going on and everyone of the members were overwhelmed by the talent and professionalism of our group.
I really have to thank so many people for making this day a success, along with their support and trust in me.
Thomas, from the very beginning you gave me the freedom to take this project and run with it.........I thank you for your faith in me.
Donations: We all know how hard it is to get someone to commit to help...............But we had some very persistent go getters.................Linda Rankin, Nancy Gingras, Thomas Holmes. You guys did an outstanding job on getting donations................. cash, gift certificates, gifts, dinning furniture, 8 dinning chairs, coffee table & 2 end tables.
Direct donations to TCR consisted of Donna Caselden and Renee Indesano. Renee also got Michelle Sherman from Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage to send a check for up to $250.00 to TCR.
I also have to thank the Companies that came threw like Bright Insurance Agency & Page Realty......(I will be sending out a donation log so everyone can see the full list).
Our paint Crew................What can I say.................Love you guys, we had a great time and we got the job done.
Thank you so much: Donna Caselden, Joyce Pace, ( who is still painting a beautiful mural in the entrance
hallway of the house) Nancy Gingras, Linda Rankin, and Margaret Innis................
Margaret brought us a Big Boxed Lunch it was just unbelievable sandwiches, chip, drink, & candy. She is an a amazing woman.
I called Troy Thompson our photographer, on the way home yesterday to tell him we were finished. We were going to set up a day for him to go to take our after pictures. When he found out that TCR was having an open house on Monday, he said he would switch his schedule around so he could get to Arlington today. He wanted to make sure he captured the rooms as we left them. WOW who dose that. You can check out Troy's websites at www.daedalcreations.com or www.troybthompson.com
I will be forwarding the before and after pictures to you very soon.
I have to be honest, I really don't know how I would have done it without my friend Linda Rankin....she devoted so much time in helping me with this project.........donation, cold calling businesses, visiting businesses shopping for deals, getting discounts from any and everyone. We talked just about everyday from how to get started to what is now the end result.
We often kidded about what will we do or talk about once this day was over!!! Linda has a great heart and I thank her with all of my.
Take care for now, and I will be in touch with you soon.

Linda –
This is just a quick note to say how blown away I was by the transformation of the space at The Children's Room. Your crew came in during my first few days in my new position as the executive director, so everything was a whirlwind for me.
WOW was the first thing I said when I walked through the door. That was also the response of the board of directors. Some of them remarked that the transformation would really make the parents feel special. We know that everything we do is focused on helping the children, and it was nice to have some attention paid to the parents – many of whom have lost their partners and are going through the most difficult time of their lives.
One of our board members is even thinking of re-doing her own livingroom in the same color scheme. Ha! Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
Anyway, we’ll be in touch in the coming weeks.
Thanks again,
Barbara
